They cannot buy a mention in a guide, change what a guide says, or review a guide before it is published. No advertiser sees a guide in advance. Those guides show a Sources list at the end.</p><p>Many of our guides carry no source list, and that is deliberate rather than an oversight. A guide explaining how a line of credit revolves, or how to weigh a boat loan, is describing a mechanism, not restating a published figure — there is no agency page to cite, and attaching a loosely related one would make every genuine citation on the site worth less. Guides in that position say so on the page.</p><h2>What We Do Not Publish</h2><p>We do not publish invented rates, approval odds, loan amounts, or eligibility requirements. We do not claim guaranteed approval, guaranteed funding, instant approval, or a lowest or best rate. Where a product is high-cost, its costs, fees, and lower-cost alternatives are stated plainly rather than buried.</p><h2>Review and Updates</h2><p>A guide shows a <strong>Last fact-checked</strong> date only once a person has re-verified its figures against the cited sources. That date is never set automatically, and it does not move when a typo is fixed — an edit is not a fact check.</p><p>We are rolling that review out across the library now, so a guide may show its sources before it shows a fact-check date. Where no date appears, treat the guide as explaining the mechanism accurately but confirm any specific figure against the source we cite and with the company itself.</p><h2>Corrections</h2><p>If something here is wrong, tell us through the contact form and we will correct it.
